Tony left school not knowing what to do and after spending a year working in a bank realised that was not for him! Three years at Teacher Training College was followed by a three year spell in a School for the Deaf. Tony then worked as a Social Worker and his last "proper" job was in an Adult Training Centre working with adults with learning difficulties.
Throughout this time Tony was singing constantly, first of all as a solo artist in the Social Clubs around his locality and then, together with a few friends he formed the "Weavers". During the "Sit Thi Deawn" T.V programme, which shot the Weavers to fame and which ran for 6 series, he was asked by the producer, Terry Wheeler, to appear as solo vocalist on a show "Surprisingly It's Spring".
Tony is lead singer with the group and loves all types of music, which is obvious to anyone who attends a Weavers show. From Al Jolson to Elvis Presley and from Frank Sinatra to the Boomtown Rats - he's always something up his sleeve.
